Sue Lennon Ride Redding board member will be participating in this year's climate ride, come down to Maxwells from 5-10pm to show your support!
She will bike over 300 miles to raise awareness and monies for more than four organizations that are leading the nation in climate change awareness, green energy development, sustainability, and bicycle advocacy, and to educate the public on these issues.
For her to participate, however, she must raise at least $2800 to help support her beneficiary organizations whose work focuses on climate education, clean energy, and bicycle infrastructure.
She has chosen four recipients that I have researched and are making an impact now and for future generations. Here is some information about the beneficiaries she has chosen: CA Bicycle Coalition (they enable more people to bicycle for healthier, safer, and more prosperous communities for all). Rails to Trails (aims to develop trail, to walk and bicycling, networks in cities all around the country and to shift the transportation paradigm in America dramatically to a less auto-centric culture). Sustainable Harvest International preserve the environment by partnering w/families to improve well-being through sustainable farming); Young Voices for the Planet (limit the magnitude of climate change and it's impact by empowering children and youth to take an essential role in informing their communities and society as a whole.
