The Redding Mountain Biking Club will offer its annual “Introduction to Mountain Biking” classes this month for mountain biking enthusiasts or those new to the sport. Participants will become familiar with their own bikes and capabilities, as well as with Shasta County’s expanding trail system and how to successfully traverse the ever-changing mountain-biking terrain.
Weekly classes will be held Tuesday evenings at 6 p.m., commencing April 21 and continuing through June 2, at various locations that connect with local trail systems. The course is $20 per person, which also includes a one-year membership in the Redding Mountain Biking Club. It is free to current members.
Registration: Pre-register online at http://reddingmountainbiking.org/ or at the first meet-up at Sports Ltd., 950 Hilltop Drive, Redding, at 6 p.m. April 21.
Required: Bike helmet, closed-toe shoes, water, spare inner tube and a mountain bike in good working order.
Optional equipment: Full-finger bike gloves, glasses, kneepads, elbow pads.
